Chair Pilates is the little, big secret of Pilates training. Also called the wunda chair, this little known exercise equipment is gaining popularity as newer, challenging exercises emerge. This Pilates tool has been around since Joseph Pilates. His original design made it feasible to use the chair in your living room while you're with company, then converted into a work out devise by night. This piece of equipment is much like the reformer in that it uses spring resistance. From there, the similarities become a little more blurry. Foot work on the chair is performed in an upright, sitting position as opposed to lying down on the reformer during foot work. It's something to try if you are primarliy a reformer person. It makes your body think in a subtly different way, and yet it will feel familiar.
